74. To the Stars Through Difficulty: Shauna Carpenter

On free-soil prairies, rain for growing things is like
desire for those who have vanished
To vanquish desire is a Buddhist tenet
When rain falls,
all is without craving and with glory
Go down to simplicity
where elements breathe
Go down to elements
where lives a daring dance
among the quartet of seasons
